Production Strategic Planning Department Manager

Basic Purpose
This position will lead the Business Planning and Strategic Planning departments in the Components Business Unit. Business Planning oversees new business quoting, profit improvement for specific programs and the overall Business Unit, as well as PL tracking and reporting. BP is also responsible for budget creation, tracking, and reporting. Strategic Planning uses data collected from cross functional departments to analyze and predict sales trends and future demand. This position will lead Planners and Associates from both departments to proactively drive profit improvement and customer satisfaction.
Position Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance. MBA or Masters in related preferred. 8+ years experience in Finance or cost planning or demand forecasting in Manufacturing environment (Automotive preferred). 2+ years experience in a Management position. Japanese/English bilingual strongly preferred. Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint absolute requirement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive Profit Improvement in new development business from quote stage to start of production.
- Ensure that deliverables for the Gateway Process (IATF) are issued on time and processes followed according to Product Development Process.
- Represent Business Planning in required audits (IATF, JSOX).
- Lead Strategic Planning activities including collecting and collating demand and BOM data, trend analysis, and future demand prediction.
- Responsible for Business Unit Profit/Loss tracking and improvement. Management reporting, drive profit improvement activities, special projects.
- Coordinate with Legal department for contracts and leases.
- Participate in Cross Functional Teams for product development, capacity and budget planning, and profit improvement.
